Top 10 Nigerian songs of the month (October) 2021

The month of October is coming to an end in the next few days, and it has become our monthly ritual to give you our list of top Nigerian songs released this month.

This month has witnessed a lot of drama in the music industry, and one of the popular dramas was the Tiwa Savage’s tape which went viral on social media, a few days after she dropped the visual of her song ‘Somebody’s Son’ featuring American star Brandy.

The tape saw Tiwa Savage being dragged on and off social media, with some reports alleging that some of her endorsement deals with some prominent firms in the country were cancelled.

In October, we also saw some Nigerian music stars dropping new songs to mark the End SARS memorial, which took place on the 20th of October.

One of the songs released this month that also caught our attention was the song released by Reekado Banks, where he threw a shade at Nigerian Grammy award winner Burna Boy.

1. Want It All by Burna Boy ft Polo G

Want It All saw Nigerian Grammy Award winner Burna Boy link up with American rapper Polo G to make the song more interesting.

The song has gained more attention on the international scene than in Nigeria.

2. Back In Office by Mayorkun

Mayorkun dropped his first song with Sony Music titled Back In Office and it comes after the release of his hit song ‘Let Me Know’, a track which is a smooth and earnest dose of Afrobeats.

The song is doing quite well on major streaming platform and should be on your playlist.

3. Gone Far by Zinoleesky

Marlian Music label act and songwriter, Zinoleesky is one of the popular Nigerian star that dropped a song this month.

Zinoleesky in Gone Far talked about some of the challenges he has faced in his career.

4. Follow You by Fiokee ft Chike and Gyakie

This is my favourite song of the month, and I bet you would love it as it comes with a sweet melody many lovers would want to tune to, and it should be a popular song on your playlist.

5. Levels by Flavour

Flavour in Levels proved there are different levels in life. The song comes with some fast beat that would surely get you on your feet.

Popular Nigerian producer Masterkraft produced Levels while it was mixed & mastered by Mixx Monsta. The video of the song saw appearance from the likes of Kanayo O. Kanayo, Yul Edochie, Cubana Chief Priest.

6. Somebody’s Son by Tiwa Savage

This is another song that did well this month as the visual was released by Tiwa Savage ft. Brandy. Despite the drama that involved Tiwa Savage that trended this month, Somebody’s Son is doing quite well.

7. Stress Free by D’banj ft Seun Kuti and Egypt 80

Nigerian veteran entertainment dropped his lead single as well as an album this month. One of the trending song on the album is Stress Free featuring Seun Kuti and the Egypt 80 afrobeat band.

8. Aunty Lovina by Ycee ft. Patoranking

Ycee joined forces with Patoranking in “Aunty Lovina”, which was earlier released in the audio version in September.

The visual of Aunty Lovina is doing quite well and is one of the popular music videos dropped this month.

9. Cold Outside by Timaya ft Buju

Nigerian veteran singer, Timaya aka the Plantain Boy, linked up with Buju on a new single title Cold Outside, which was released in October.

“Cold Outside” by Timaya featuring Buju is a slow tempo and one of trending songs currently.

10. Woman by Simi

Simi was one of the trending music stars this month as she started a campaign she called Nobody Like Woman, which trended massively on social media with many Nigerian female celebrities and female fans and followers taking active participation in the challenge.

A few days later, Simi dropped the audio and visual version of her song Woman is currently trending on major streaming platforms.
