Manchester United has been hit with a COVID-19 outbreak ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League clash against Brentford.

According to The Athletic, the Premier League have been informed that a “small number of players and staff” have returned positive lateral flow tests.

The Brentford game could now be postponed.

United’s Premier League rivals Tottenham have had to postpone three fixtures due to an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Spurs squad.

Ralf Rangnick was due to oversee a group training session on Sunday but the outbreak meant it could not take place as planned.

Instead, the side were only able to complete individual non-contact outdoor sessions, with the individuals who tested positive sent home beforehand.
