Tyson Fury has taken a swipe at Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte while questioning whether AJ is going to step aside to set up a mega-clash between him and Oleksandr Usyk.
This comes after Joshua angrily slammed reports that he is set to accept a £15million pay-off to allow his rival Fury to take on Usyk. He was actually getting ready for a rematch after he lost the heavyweight last September.
Organisers in the Middle East are desperate to stage a blockbuster unification bout between Fury and Usyk, and reports in The Telegraph recently claimed that AJ was happy to step out of the way.
Taking to Instagram after a workout this morning, Fury vowed to give his rivals ‘a good hiding’ and labelled them as ‘cowards’.
Another gym session done. Tuesday morning, smashed,’ he said. ‘Tick, tick, effing tick, tock, is the subject of today. Is Dillian Whyte going to fight me?
‘Is Anthony Joshua going to step aside? Let me know, because I am sick of looking at these bums, sick of listening to their excuses.
‘Tick, tick, tock. The time has run out the bottle. You’re all getting a good hiding. Cowards.’
According to Mail Online, an agreement over either showdown is expected to be reached by tomorrow, with the Fury v Whyte purse bids to take place then. Whyte is the mandatory challenger to the Gypsy King’s WBC belt but wants more than a 20 per cut of the revenue.
That is the split ordered by the WBC, and purse bids have been postponed on three separate occasions while talks over the bout progress slowly.
On Monday, Joshua told his followers to stop listening to the ‘bulls***’ written about him, and to wait until he reveals the official news himself.
Speaking on Instagram, he said: ‘You know what’s bad about all these interviews I see? I see certain interviews that quote what I’ve said, and I think to myself: “I ain’t done no interviews? Where did this person get this information from?”
‘I’m hearing people saying, “AJ accepts £15m to step aside”. I ain’t signed no contract, I ain’t seen no contract. So as it stands, stop listening to the bulls*** until it comes from me.
‘I’m the man in control of my destiny, I’m the man who handles my business. I’m a smart individual and I make calculated decisions every step of the way. Don’t listen to the bulls*** from other sources, if I tell you something then you know it’s from me.’
