Reports reaching KemifilaniNews says a 42-year-old herbalist has reportedly hanged himself in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State.

It was gathered that the incident happened in the late hours of Friday in Ge- Mbayem village, Mbakuha Council ward of Ushongo Local Government area of the state.

The herbalist identified as Terhemen Iorbee, was found dead in the in hours of today (Saturday March 5, 2022) with his body suspended by a rope tied round his neck from a tree branch.

In separate chats with journalists, the deceased father, Iorbee Ndyar and his eldest son, Fater Terhemen revealed that the deceased Native Doctor was brought home around 10Pm by a colleague, Orduen Kerchen from Mbakor, Tarkar Local Government where he spent several weeks attending to his clients.

The deceased was alleged to be only hallucinating in his last days in Mbakor, leaving the colleague with no choice than to return him home.

The deceased who is married to 3 wives though left with non in the house was led to his room to sleep, however he was missing Saturday morning and later found to have committed suicide by hanging himself.

When contacted by our reporter, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Catherine Anene, said she was yet to receive the report of the incident.

“I’m also seeing the [suicide] pictures on social media, but I’ve not received the official report. I’m waiting for the Division to bring the report,” Anene said.
