Moyo Lawal was born on January 1 in the Badagry area of Lagos State. However, she has not revealed the year of her birth and continues to keep it a closely guarded secret from the world.
She attended Tomobid Primary School and then proceeded to the Lagos State Model College for her secondary school education. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts from the University of Lagos.
Not much is known about her family as she keeps it private. However, she announced the death of her mother in 2014 and speculations were rife that her mother was buried according to Islamic rights, prompting netizens to claim that she is a Muslim. Her father is known to still be alive.

Lawal began acting when she was still in school. According to her, she was paid ₦5,000 for each play/theatre production she appeared in but the remuneration did not satisfy her. Following the advice of her friend, she began to try out roles in movies.
She began attending movie auditions and fortunately for her, she was given the role of “Chioma” in the television series, Shallow Waters. Since then, she has made numerous appearances in series and Nollywood films. Lawal rose to prominence after she landed the role of Chinny in the popular M-Net soap opera, Tinsel.
The actress has appeared in several films, series and soap operas, including Judas Game, Big Gals on Campus, Mistresses, Never Love a Prince, Cloud of Pain and Thanks for Coming. She also made an appearance in the popular comedy series, Jenifa’s Diary.
Moyo has a long history in acting and has worked with well-known Nigerian actors and actresses such as Biodun Okewo, Odunlade Adekola, Iyabo Ojo, Mary Remmy, Njoku, and Halima Abubakar. These celebrities have had an influence on Moyo in one way or another and have helped her gain a lot of experience, which has helped her carve out a successful career path in the field.

Lawal was in the headlines in November 2021 for supposedly having an affair with a wealthy politician from the country’s north. She, however, declared the speculation as untrue, noting that there are “years where I abstained completely” from sexual intercourse.
The curvaceous actress, who has been fairly vocal on social media, also claimed in the same interview that she saw nothing wrong with having a cheating boyfriend in an interview. According to her, she can forgive and take back a cheating spouse, in so far he cheats on her with sense and uses protection.
