Do you remember the popular child group in Nigeria who sang gospel songs? The group’s name is Destined Kids and their lead singer was Rejoice Iwueze. Those of us who grew up in the early 2000s remember her as this lovely, lively and charismatic little girl who won the hearts of so many people.
She was a sight to behold as she sang like she owned the stage even when she performed alongside her siblings. Many saw her as the standout star of the group and many years later, they are not wrong. Of course, she is not a little girl anymore but an accomplished young lady who is doing big things.

Rejoice Iwueze was born on August 18, 1993, to Stephen Iwueze and Love Iwueze, both pastors, in Owerri, Imo State. She is the second of six children. Rejoice attended primary and secondary schools in Owerri, the capital of Imo State before she proceeded to Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
Career
Iwueze began her music career at the young age of five. Her father was a songwriter and taught her and her siblings the songs which they recorded. The kids formed a group called “Destined Kids”, which became very popular.
Iwueze was the lead singer and came into the spotlight after singing “Joy Joy Joy!” She also led other popular songs by the well-known family group. Years later, she signed to God’s Mercy Connection, a gospel music record label in Imo State.
She also has a popular YouTube channel where she shares her songs and motivational speeches.

Iwueze announced her engagement to Temitayo Samuel, popularly known as Sam Tblaze, a gospel singer, farmer, and forex trader on September 9, 2022.
The couple did their traditional wedding on November 17, 2022, and their white wedding on November 22, 2022.
Family
Iwueze is the second of six popular siblings. Her siblings’ names are Favour, Joshua, Best, Caleb and Wonderful. All siblings were members of the defunct Destined Child gospel group except Wonderful, who was a baby at the time and could not sing or perform.
The firstborn, Favour, is also a gospel singer. She is also married with a daughter and currently lives in Lagos State with her family. Joshua chose a different path into the world of business as he is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Josh Empire, a clothing, hair styling and accessories venture. He specializes in Unisex clothes, ladies’ hair, wristwatches, men’s and women’s shoes and much more.
Best is reportedly still a student at an undisclosed university in Nigeria. Like her sisters, she is signed to God’s Mercy Connection. Caleb Iwueze is also a student and a gospel singer like his sisters, while Wonderful, the last-born, is now all grown.
